Who we are
Tany Technologies Inc. (“Tany,” “we”) is a Canadian company that provides white-label mobile ordering apps to independent cafes. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it — both for cafe operators using our platform and for customers using cafe-branded apps powered by Tany.
What we collect from cafe operators
When you sign up for Tany we collect your cafe name, your name, your email, your phone number, and your business details. When you connect Square we receive an OAuth access token that lets us read your menu, locations, and customer list — we never see your card processing keys.
What we collect from end customers
When a customer uses a cafe-branded app powered by Tany, we collect the data needed to take orders: name, phone, email (optional), birthday (optional), order history, loyalty balance, and saved payment tokens (stored by Square, never by us). For multi-location cafes, we also collect coarse location to help customers find their nearest store.
Where the data lives
Customer data is stored in Supabase's Canadian region. Payment processing is handled by Square. Push notifications go through Expo's push servers. SMS goes through Twilio. No customer data leaves Canada outside these specific service flows.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data. We don't share customer lists between cafes. We don't use any of it to train AI models. We don't embed third-party trackers or analytics SDKs in the apps.
If you leave
When a cafe leaves Tany, we export their customer list as CSV and delete it from our servers within 30 days. The Square data stays with the cafe — we never owned it.
